GOVT. INDUSTRIAL TRAINING INSTITUTE,  SALEM-636 007.

Salem Government Industrial Training Institute is located near the foothills of Yercaud. The location of Industrial Training Institute is very pleasant and the environment aslo holds merits and excellence. Once the Industrial Training Institute had spread over to and extend of 35.45 acres of land, out of which the following divisions were made.

10 acres of land was handed over to Govt. Arts College for Women, Salem

An extent of 3.22 acres had been given to Tamil Nadu Housing Board

An extent of 1.92 acres of land was conceded to Social Welfare Department.

The available total extent of net land area comes to 20.32 acres for this Govt. Industrial Training Institute which includes Govt. Industrial Training Institute for Women to the extent of 6.5 acres of land.

Ours is an Industrial Training Institute the boasts of 50 years of well-recorded and documented history. The Govt. Industrial Training Institute was established during 1962 (01-12-1962) with and intake of 304 Trainees. The intake had further been increased to 616 Trainees w.e.f 01-08-1966.
